Who knew making chicken wings at home is so easy! I didn’t! I started looking for recipes when my almost 5 year old started enjoying chicken wings that we had ordered for us. I couldn’t believe my eyes – the wings weren’t even mild! When I made these at home, I just drizzled few drops of the sauce on the chicken wings I was serving him and lightly brushed it around.
I made Pepperoni Pizza, Cheese Pizza with Onions and Bell Peppers and chicken wings for dinner last Friday when my friend DC came over for a short but sweet visit. She is an avid photographer and I have used one of her photographs in this post.
Ingredients: For the Chicken Wings
- Chicken Wings – 2 lbs
- Oil – 1 tbsp (I used Canola Oil)
- Black Pepper – 1/2 tsp, freshly ground
- Salt to taste
Ingredients: For the Buffalo Sauce
- Hot Sauce – 1/4 Cup (I used Frank’s)
- Butter – 1 tbsp, melted (I used unsalted)
- Black Pepper – 1/4 tsp, freshly ground
- Cayenne Pepper – 1/4 tsp (use a little more if you prefer more heat)
- Salt – just a little, since the chicken wings are already seasoned with salt.
Preheat oven to 400 F. Place a wire rack on a baking sheet or cookie sheet.
In a bowl, add all the ingredients for wings except for the chicken wings and give it a quick whisk. Check for seasoning. Now add the chicken wings to it and toss to coat. Arrange the chicken wings on the wire rack in a single layer and bake it for about 45 minutes till these are cooked through and crispy.
In another bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the buffalo sauce. Add more cayenne pepper if you want. Once the chicken wings are nicely baked and crispy, toss them in the buffalo sauce and serve immediately.
